My First WORLD SERIES

Welcome to MY first World Series. I started the season off at Opening Day. Sitting in the GREAT seats (the ones I most likley will never be able to afford), dining on beer and pizza watching the boys up close and personal in batting practice.

I followed that up with tickets to the FIRST game ever played in the stadium and then three more games - all winners - in the regular season. And then I got my first play-off tickets. I watched them clinch game 6 against the Angels in a series that never seemed to end.

There has been little sleep this past week. A rocky start losing game one and then the joy of winning 3 in a row. Mixed emotions of losing game 5 because who really wanted to win it in Philly anyway? And then last night - Matsui put his bat to work and made magic. The old boys proved they are indeed Champions and now have 5 rings to show it.

And my boy, A-Rod, 16 RBIs in the post season - the second highest in history. What a season, what a game. Lets go Yankees.

Regardless of geography, I am a fan for life.

GO Paula ... go!

I don't know when or why running moves me ... but it does. Watching the NYC Marathon this morning, I simply can't wait till it is my turn next year. It is so inspiring to see the dedication it takes to be aamazing at this sport.

Next year - Jen vs. Paula!

What's a-happening?

Blogging doesn't come with the ease or the time available that it used to! Some pics to tell what has been happening of late.

Happy halloween - last night, despite the cold, 45 of my corps members supported the South Bronx Halloween Parade.

Scott looking oh-so-fly with Yalenis and myself on his arm! These are my wing men at work :) But here we are at a wedding celebrating good times!!!

Enjoying some chill out time after work. (Please note it is only 11am here)

My new Corps Members ... before opening day! A new group of incredible people who are giving a year to change the world!

2010 - The Year of the athlete

Just registered for the New York City Triathlon and by Thanksgiving Jesse and I will qualify for the New York City Marathon. Add in the ten races we need to continue to do for the Marathon in 2011 ... well 2010 is shaping up to be the fittest year yet!

And with a personal trainer in the mix and I can actually pick up more then ten pounds at one time!

Now if only I could get into yoga ... hmmm.

Gallop

Galloped around Central Park two times this weekend in my first half marathon for the year (well timed one anyway). Was a great run but ran really conservatively and know I can drop my time by 30 seconds a mile next time. Managed to get lap by the guys pumping out 4 minute miles, an impressive feat for 13.1 miles. I wonder how fast they do the marathon?!?!

Apart from that ... wrapped up wedding season with wedding #8. Another brilliant night out and much to celebrate. So now I have to evaluate all those weddings and come up with the "best of" for my very own!!!

Where did September go?

I cannot believe the end of September is already here. Where, oh where did this month go?

And October ... doesn't look any quieter!

But who wants to have time to ponder life ... until that time comes ... yee haa!

Rambling ...

A lot of learnings in the past month ... and perhaps not enough time to digest them all. Some thoughts:

- Address conflict. I always feel better once it is on the table and you can talk it out. Own it if you made a mistake and don't beat yourself up every day about it, even if it still hurts.

- Make time to stop. And talk to people that make your life special. Friends, family but most importantly your parents. It is amazing to realize they are adults too with faults and mistakes, but they will always be your parents.

- Don't plan every minute of every trip. From Australia to Mexico to London ... grab that book and read on a chair, walk the streets by yourself, buy something just for you. Enjoy the moment.

- Not all appreciations have to cost money. A picture said 1000 words and was the best appreciation I could have hoped for. In turn, taking how I deal with something and sharing it with others can also be a gift.

- Go deep ... if you do, others will. Do something scary every day right?

Going to the DR this weekend with no agenda, no plans and nothing remotley to do. Cannot wait to think and learn. And enjoy a beverage by the beach while I am at it.

Congrats D and M!

Just spent a long weekend in London and had an amazing time. After 6 years Denise and Mark tied the knot in the most unique way. An incredible outdoor picnic turn night time gala. Some pics.

Table for 60. Inside a re-furbished barn, we gathered to celebrate dinner with Denise, Mark, friends and family.

Denise and Mark at the head of the table listening to kind words by their Mum's. Denise is wearing gown number 3!!!

Three very very handsome men. And very entertaining! Jesse, Tim and Carey - pre post party, pre cricket match, pre crashing the "other" wedding. In other words ... on very good behaviour!

Denise and Mark (gown number 2) doing the fox trot for their wedding dance. Very elegant and coordinated!

The NSWow RB! Jazz hands and all. It was great to catch up with so many wonderful people. Mazzy, Eddie, Denise (gown number 1) and Jen ... where did the time go?

Jacs and Jen ... thank you for such an amazing time Jacs. I couldn't have asked for a better partner!!!
